Debt Counselling - We Can Help You Today!
Easy Simple Step By Step Process To Become Debt Free.

In the current economic climate many consumers are struggling to cope with excessive debts. The same debt that was easy to manage previously is now becoming too much to handle with the cost of living increasing and income shrinking month by month.
In the past Banks and most other credit providers have been very aggressive in lending to consumers, today YOU, the consumer are finding it very difficult to pay your full monthly instalments to your credit providers. Many consumers are finding that they are over-indebted and cannot manage their monthly debt repayments like they used to in the past.
The National Credit Act that came into effect in June 2007, now provides an alternative way to help consumers manage their debt. Over-indebted consumers can now apply for Debt Counselling with the help of the National Credit Act.
Debt Counselling will protect the consumer from aggressive credit providers who are quick to take legal action and not always willing to listen or understand your problems. Debt Counselling will help protect the consumer from credit providers who are threatening legal action. In many cases the consumer and the credit provider benefits from the debt counselling process.
Various benefits to consumers and creditors:
You the Consumer gets to pay more manageable monthly payments.
The credit provider benefits from not having to take expensive legal action. So the Banks are also looking for alternatives to repossession and do not want to repossess your assets unless they absolutely have to.
The debt counselling application process takes up to 60 working days. While this is a long process, it is important to remember that the consumer is protected within 5 working days during the application phase. The Debt Counsellor will negotiate with the credit provider on the consumer’s behalf during the debt counselling application phase.
Credit providers are more willing to negotiate with the Debt Counsellor than with the consumer. The reason is that the credit provider will know that the consumer is truly over-indebted and cannot afford the monthly payments when they have applied for debt counselling. The credit provider will realise that the consumer is actively taking steps to repay the debt. The credit provider will also know that the Debt Counsellor is there to help the over-indebted consumer. The Debt Counsellor is there to help the consumer manage their debt. The credit provider also knows that the Debt Counsellor is working in accordance with the National Credit Act to look after the consumer’s legal rights.
The criteria to qualify for debt counselling are simple to understand. The main criteria is that you must have an income. You can be an employee or self-employed but there must be money left, after calculating your essential living expenses, to make a reasonable proposal to your credit providers.
The biggest mistake that over-indebted consumers can make is to do nothing! Many consumers wait and hope for a miracle or hope that their situation changes fast in the future. They hope for an increase at work, or to win the lottery, go gambling, or hope that the debt and credit provider will disappear. If you leave your problem for too long, not even debt counselling will help you.
You need to take action before you get a summons from a credit provider.
You must take action as soon as you see that your current income cannot meet all your monthly expenses. As soon as you receive a summons, your credit provider does not have to listen to the Debt Counsellor. It is as simple as that.
